In the video The Scene Behind, the artist enters a snow-covered open space and approaches a pallet of sand-lime bricks. He takes one brick after another from the stack and builds a cube around himself, until he disappears completely behind its walls. The action can be understood as the creation of a space of shelter and retreat, but also as an act of isolation in which the space becomes a place of confinement.
